ABOUT PLAN PROTECT
Plan Protect is a financial planning firm with four key values: Health, Family, Lifestyle and Fun.
These values are what drives our advice to you. Our clients enjoy coming to the office or catching up on zoom. Our staff know all our clients personally and there is always a chat that happens before any meeting. The chat is followed by coffee or tea (usually served with a glass of water) and then we discuss recent travel, children, grandchildren, activities, pets and other topics which are all more interesting than the numbers. We then get to the financial part of the meeting. Meetings generally last an hour or more, depending on how much we need to discuss.
We have client functions including talks from some of our best fund managers and social events. We love our Northern Beaches location. We have lovely views from the office and lots of free parking. We can walk to the post office for exercise and down the road from a large gym. The beach and restaurants of Dee Why are only 10 minutes away. We are located just off Warringah Road, so it is easy to get to us if you're not from 'the beaches'.
Janne Ashton has been the principal of Plan Protect since its inception in 2004. Most of the staff have been with Plan Protect for a long time: Byron Pritchard 14 years; Pamela Quilliam 12 years; Louise Cook 12 years and Elise Keays 2 years. This is a reflection of our values.
Plan Protect is licensed by Godfrey Pembroke Ltd.
WHAT WE DO
We all want to be healthy. Most of us enjoy regular exercise and having a healthy diet. There are times, however, when our health can be compromised. We help you manage those times so that they don’t detrimentally affect your finances. This speeds up your recovery, both physically and financially
We all have different definitions of family. We define it as the most important people in your life. They are the ones that often drive your purpose and your goals. By getting to know what you want for yourself and your family, we gain a deeper understanding of you.
Lifestyle is how you live day to day. The area you live in, the type of property, the things you do on a day to day basis are all part of your lifestyle. This may change during your life. Whatever you choose, we are here to help you achieve the lifestyle of your dreams.
Fun is all the extra stuff that really improves your life. Holidays, education choices for yourself and your family, the sports you play, and the activities that you enjoy all go to make life fun. Many of our clients enjoy overseas travel, golf, sailing, good food and wine, both at home and at restaurants of their choice.
These four areas of life are what drives our advice to you. We look at your goals and objectives in each of these areas and help you to find the most effective way to get to your destination.
This may not sound like traditional financial planning but underneath all the layers of complexity in the superannuation and insurance world, this is what financial planning is truly about.
Founder and Financial Planner
I have spent my life implementing a financial planning strategy for myself. This has allowed me the financial freedom to enjoy time with my family, regular travel and relaxation activities such as swimming, walking in the bush and along the beach.
My home is on the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney, I also enjoy frequent trips to Byron Bay, the Hunter Valley and France as well as other overseas destinations.
I have two sons, Byron and Lee. Byron and wife Bec have two beautiful daughters, Lily and Anastasia. Lee and wife Katie have a gorgeous daughter, Zara. I am lucky as they all live locally and I can enjoy their company on a regular basis.
With a career stretching back to 1987, there is not a lot I haven't seen or done that relates to financial planning. Strategies, philosophies, products and fund managers all go into and out of fashion, this is for the simple reason that times change. With change comes the opportunity for some and extinction for others. For this reason, I am always looking for new opportunities and strategies that work with the current times, so expect change and some fresh ideas if you choose me as your financial planner.
I believe that education is extremely important when handling the life savings of others and have kept myself actively educated throughout my career. Starting with a degree in Economics: Bachelor of Arts (Econ), I have also completed four diplomas: Diploma in Education, Diploma in Financial Advice, Diploma of Management and Diploma of Financial Services, Mortgage Broking.
Pamela loves working at Plan Protect so much that she previously travelled three hours each way to get there! We have now helped her find accommodation in the same suburb as the office.
She also loves travel outside of work.
Louise loves talking to and helping our clients.
She now works part-time, so that she can spend quality time with her two grandchildren.
